Learning Languages: Lessons Learned

Here I will write all the tricks and important things I’ve learned in trying to learn languages that you won’t get taught in school

  • Learn all the filler words and conjunctions (coordinating and subordinating) and memorize them by heart. There are many reasons for this. First, when you start using them you’ll start to sound like a native speaker, it makes your speech sound more natural rather than robotic. Speakers also use them a lot more than you think and using them will give you great insight into the semantics of what they are saying. They are also pretty darn helpful in connecting various parts of your speech and allowing you to convey meaning that you couldn’t convey before.
  • Focus on all learning and memorizing the most common verbs by heart. These are the verbs used most often in speech. Also learn and memorize the irregular verbs, as these also tend to be the ones that are used most often. One reason for this is that in the evolution of language, the most common (irregular) verbs come from a previous language, and thus their conjugations do not conform to the new conjugation system of the language, but rather to an older one.
  • This gets extended to all words in general too, learn the most common adjectives, adverbs, nouns, etc… As time goes on you’ll expand your vocabulary.
  • Make sure to learn the imperative mood (commands) and learn it well. This is used often in speech a lot more than you think.
  • Learn words like however, as well as, moreover, although, more or less, about, and such adverbs
  • Learn periphrasis and periphrastic constructions (perifrasis verbales). These are verb combinations that native speakers use often to express concepts (fall in love for ex. you are not actually falling. Giving a presentation, you are not physically giving anything, you are presenting).

The Greatest Force: Sexual Transmutation

Sexual transmutation. This is the key to it all.

Our sexuality, our sexual energy, is the strongest and most potent force that exists in a human being. It’s the reason we live and create and propagate more and more. But as the old saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility, and the power to abuse this sexuality is indeed great. Very great, in fact, that all the world’s major spiritualities and religions have attempted to curb it and limit it in some shape or form; for they recognized the true extent of the potency of this force. In fact, some cultures worshipped it. The worship of the phallus (penis) was very prevalent in the past. Fertility gods and goddesses worship? That was all about worship of the uterus, where life is conceived. It is thus evident that as customary to humans to be attracted by power, the ancients recognized how great it was sexual power and they worshipped it in fact.

I, you, we, everyone that has ever existed, exists, and will exist wants to fuck the shit out of their brains. we are all obsessed with sex. You think the ancients were some sex-idol-worshipping ignorant bunch who didn’t know any better? Funny, because you are not any better. Look around you. Those muscular and brawny men in advertisements, that scantily dressed 20-something year old model on Sports Illustrated. Look at the clothes we wear: very tight leggings, short dresses, booty shorts, and the list goes on, all to arouse others fundamentally. There is no escaping it (I won’t even begin to talk about porn), for as long we have existed and for as long as we will exist, sexual energy will be the primary force guiding us. We cannot and should not fight or repress it, equally we cannot let it control us and rule over us either.

Look at what happens when a society cannot restrain its sexuality: it degenerates, its members running wild fucking and birthing like animals with no thought and perpetuates the cycle even more unrestrictedly until the society totally collapses or is conquered by others (think of the Romans, Islamic Empire, the West today…).

We must acknowledge this sexuality as part of us, for it’s force that begot us and that which perpetuates us. There is no running away from it. The good news is that harnessing this force can perhaps be one of the most powerful tools you can harness in your life, wielding and utilizing its power can truly allow you to accomplish truly great deeds and create ingenious creations. To do this, you need to develop your willpower. Practically you need to practice abstinence from sex, porn, and masturbation. You will be highly energized with all that pent up sexuality. You are earning for a release, to go release your sexuality on something. Be abstinent for a week. Feel that sensation in you, the urge, the want. Don’t suppress it. Embrace it. Now take all this energy and direct it to something to something productive. Instead of wasting and expending it on physical sex, use it to create and accomplish something. The key though is to not let this sexual urge take over you and waste it by masturbating or watching porn. Focus your mind on creating something.

Two challenges with high pay off for the daredevils:

First one: when you want to really stimulate yourself and get the juices flowing for creativity and energy, start fantasizing and think about sex. Think about that beautiful, sexy, girl you want to fuck the brains out of. Think about the deed, then focus your mind on the task at hand of creating that business plan or whatever it is you wanted to accomplish. Easier said than done but you need to focus on forcefully redirecting the attention of your mind.

Second one: This one is for the hardcore motherfuckers out there. Don’t masturbate or watch porn, but keep having sex. Now here is the key, I said keep having sex, but I never said anything about ejaculating/cumming. That’s right, fuck until you are about to climax then pull out, turn away. You will be in such a highly charged and energetic state for the rest of the day that you will literally have one of the most productive days in your life.

Practicing this abstinence and redirecting your sexual energy will have many benefits in your life. First that redirected energy will allow you to create and accomplish so much with all that energy and creativity in you. Second, the self-discipline and control gained through this, through saying no to sex, is the most powerful of all, for when you’ve successfully said no to your greatest urge, there is no longer anything that can control you in your life.

So close that laptop and get out there, it only gets better from here.

Free Will: My Take

After reading Sam Harris’s Free Will, these are the thoughts that I emerged with.

The key takeaway is that there is no reason to be angry or disappointed at someone for anything that they do. They didn’t do that action out of their “free will”. They did that action through their whole lifetime of influences: upbringing, environment they were raised in, genetics, education, intelligence, birth defects, life experiences, etc… If you were in that person’s position, truly being that person, you would’ve done exactly the same. Your reaction to that person’s actions, also, are a result of expectations you have because of all the things that every influenced you, namely the same list above again: family, upbringing, genetics, intelligence, environment around you, birth defects, etc…

Why don’t you like macaroni that much but LOVE rice? Preferences. Where do those preferences come from? I don’t know. No one knows. It’s the result of all those above influences shaping you and your tastes and your life since you were born. When you read the Free Will book, you had the thought of making this blog post. When you had the thought, you decided to actually follow through and make it. Why? I don’t know, you had a desire to do it that emanated from all your life’s influences. Why did you even get that thought in the first place? You don’t know. It originates in the subconscious before it reaches the conscious. Some people can read a book and be really influenced by it, while others can read it and just put it down as useless. Do any one of them know why they have that preference? No, it’s those influences again. We ultimately don’t know the origin of our thoughts and all the influences that affect us. Even as you write this sentences, you don’t know what you will write next. It all springs randomly in the unconscious mind before it reaches the conscious. Even your decision to switch tabs and look at Facebook came from the unconscious. Thus it really is imperative to realize that people are who they are and it’s a result of a lifetime of influences. Don’t force your expectations or be angry at people because of your expectations. For your expectations are a result of a lifetime of different influences than theirs, for if you switched places with them, you would have in exactly the same manner as them.

Before getting angry at people or being so very hateful and unforgiving, truly put yourself in their shoes and embody them. You will realize they have no choice about how they feel and how they behave, for you would’ve done the same if you were them. Any negative reactions you may have truly are unfounded.

We are only hurt if we choose to be hurt. We are only sad if we choose to be sad. We are completely free to do and feel as we wish. It is all an illusion of the mind. Thus choose to be happy, choose to feel good, for if it is all a choice, why not pick the choice in which you’re happy?

The biggest mistake you can make is to base your happiness on others. If your happiness depends on other people, then you will be sorely disappointed and you will be sad often.

You are not entitled to anything. Stop having expectations of other people. People are going to do what they are going to do and there is nothing you can do about it. Let them do whatever they want, for you do not control them and they are free. Thus it’s stupid to be angry at others or have expectations of them, you are only setting yourself up to disappointments. You are expecting something that is not based in reality. If a person has never behaved in a certain manner, or you’ve never observed them doing so/known them long enough to observe, why are you angry that they didn’t behave in the way you wanted them to behave? Why are you expecting them to behave how you want them to behave? That’s stupid! They are going to behave how they want to, and you can do nothing about it. Stop having expectations of people. At the same time though, you don’t have to conform to other people’s expectations. You are free to do whatever you want and they do not control your life. Thus live by the modified golden rule, treat others as you would treat yourself, but don’t expect that treatment reciprocated from them. There is absolutely no reason for you to have that expectation. It’s an imaginary fantasy that will never happen.

If God is both omnipotent and omniprescient, that means he is all powerful and all knowing, i.e. he is capable of anything and he has knowledge of everything, including the future. However, if God, knows the future, then that means he knows what he will do. That means he does not have free will as he knows exactly what he will and is not so “all-powerful”. If he changes his mind, however, and does something else, then he didn’t really know the future in the first place. Thus it’s an exclusive choice between free will and omniprescience.

This gets extended to human free will essentially. Do we have free will? Maybe. If God is omnipotent and is all-knowing, then we don’t really have free will. He knows exactly what we will do and everything is predetermined. If, however, we do have free will and we change our minds, then God was wrong and he didn’t know the future; that’s not very omnipotent now is it?

Science isn’t this solution-to-all human endeavor either. All science is is pattern recognition, observations, and models. We don’t really know anything, all we know is that when A happens, B follows. Now this does not mean that A causes B, just that we observed many times over that when A happens B follows, so we say that A causes B, but we can never truly know if A causes B. likewise also realize that people from ages before thought they had it all figured out. We knew that we descended from Adam and Eve, we knew that God caused rain and all the natural events. We knew the Earth was flat. Now, our understanding changed, and there is no doubt it will change again. What makes you think that this time you are the one (your generation) who truly has all the answers? Rubbish, understanding changes and knowledge expands. Appreciate the fact that you don’t know.

Don’t think you are so important. You are but a speck of dust that exists for less than an eye blink in the grand scheme of things. The universe billions of years ancient, and will live on for billions more. There are so many wondrous things in it and there is so much going on. Why do you think you are so important? Why would anybody, let alone God, care about what happens to you? You are about as interesting as a rock or a pebble. No, even less. Across time, these rocks and pebbles transform and become mountains and travel across space; you, on the other hand, disintegrated and disappeared as soon you formed. Your time is brief and everybody will forget about you. Anybody that even knew you or heard of you will likewise be forgotten as well. Your existence will not even be a memory. one hundred years after you die, it will be as if you never existed. Rather than depressing you, this should in fact enlighten you. Do not be so worried about your daily life or some bullshit occurrence that happens, for truly it’s meaningless.
